I'm happy you're here!

A bit about me: I'm Jenn Baici (Bay-Sea) and I am an Ontario-based, early-career researcher with an enthusiasm for conducting and communicating conservation science. This site is dedicated to my work as a conservation scientist and educator.

I've had the opportunity to work with a wide breadth of species, including but certainly not limited to: pumas and jaguars in South America, migratory songbirds in Toronto, yellow-breasted chats in the Okanagan Valley, raccoons in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), and wild turkeys in Peterborough County.

As a post-doctoral researcher at University of Toronto, I currently study biological control of invasive plants using insect agents.

As a sessional faculty member at University of Toronto and Trent University, I regularly teach
courses related to: insect biology, plant and tree physiology, conservation biology, forest ecosystem health, and science communication.
My research interests include avian, insect, and plant ecology, human-animal conflict mitigation, and science communication, although I'm passionate and nerdy about anything and everything to do with conservation science and practice.

I strive to never stop learning while also making a meaningful impact on the conservation of earth's incredible biodiversity.
